Alchemy's annual open call opens its doors once again, after the great responses we received the past two years. Our opening exhibition in November 2020 was the result of our first open call under the title of 'Love in the Time of Covid'. The zine and exhibition became a collection of artists’ responses to making art during the pandemic, at a point where we did not know how long the limbo of lockdown would last. Last summer, still in the midst of confusion and uncertainty, we put out our second open call for artworks inspired by the title of ‘Love and Chaos’ to form a second publication and exhibition.

Another year has passed and, even though for many the pandemic has started to fade away, our future is no less frightening, as we are left to face issues like global warming & climate change, wars and financial crises. In response to the fear and the panic, we are holding our third open call with the title 'It'll be alright'. The feeling of hope seems an appropriate starting point for a more broad brief where artists are encouraged to take the theme in any direction they wish, interpreted as broadly or as literally as desired.

THEME: It'll be alright (open to interpretation)

painting, drawing (including digital), printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, design and text.
