The Alchemy Experiment is an inclusive arts venue and collective aiming to create a space for art and creativity in Glasgow.

 

Since opening in October 2020 we have hosted fine art exhibitions ranging from painting, photography, printmaking, film, sculpture and textile works, open calls with entrants from all over the world, workshops, spoken word events, solo and group art shows, evening events supporting local businesses, live music and pop-up shops for local artists and makers to show and sell their pieces. 

 

We are focused on being an inclusive art space, therefore, operate booking on a flexible basis. Artists, after applying or being invited, can choose to forward pay a flat rate as rent, or work on a commission basis in order to ensure the space is accessible to artists of all ages, backgrounds, and financial means. The Alchemy Experiment: Accessibility Statement

At The Alchemy Experiment, we are committed to ensuring the accessibility of our gallery to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive and welcoming experience for every visitor. 

​

1. Accessible Entrance: The main entrance and the primary gallery at The Alchemy Experiment are easily accessible to visitors with mobility challenges, as they are at street level. However, please note that the toilet facilities and the bottom floor gallery are not accessible as they are located downstairs.
 

2. Wheelchair Accessibility: Ramps and elevators are available to facilitate movement between different floors. The gallery is wheelchair accessible, with the main entrance and primary gallery situated at street level.
 

3. Toilet Facilities (Gender-Neutral): Accessible and gender-neutral toilet facilities are available within the gallery for the convenience of our visitors. Please note that these facilities are not on the main level. There are currently plans in place to install a groundfloor accessible toilet.

4. Parking: Designated disabled parking spaces are available nearby to ensure ease of access for visitors with disabilities.
 

5. Public Transportation: The nearest subway station to The Alchemy Experiment is Hillhead, and there are bus stops in close proximity to the gallery.
 

6. Listening Devices: Please note that The Alchemy Experiment does not currently provide assistive listening devices.
 

7. Service Animals: All dogs, including service animals, are welcome at The Alchemy Experiment.
 

8. Descriptive Text: To enhance the experience for all visitors, descriptive text is provided to give information on the artist and the exhibition on display.
 

9. Staff Assistance: Our staff is trained to assist visitors with disabilities. Should you require any assistance during your visit, please do not hesitate to ask.
