Artist Talk : Sweet Meat by Kirsty May Hamilton and Eilidh Appletree
Tue 15 Apr
|The Alchemy Experiment
Sweet Meat is a multidisciplinary R&D, bringing together sculptures of sugar moulded into body parts, live performance and fairytale narrative. We are interested in conjuring thoughts of homeliness, the female body as a commodity, of violence and cannibalism.

Time & Location
15 Apr 2025, 19:00 – 21:00
The Alchemy Experiment, 157 Byres Rd, Glasgow G12 8TS, UK
About the event
Fallen Bones is an emerging multidisciplinary arts company who make feminist works that exist in the space between theatre and fine-art. Formed by theatre-maker Kirsty May Hamilton and visual artist Eilidh Appletree, we use live performance, sculpture and video work to confront the systems of patriarchy and class.
Sweet Meat is a multidisciplinary R&D, bringing together sculptures of sugar moulded into body parts, live performance and fairytale narrative. We are interested in conjuring thoughts of homeliness, the female body as a commodity, of violence and cannibalism.
Our two week project will end with a work-in-progress sharing and artist talk at the Alchemy Experiment on 15th April.
With support from, Surge, The Alchemy Experiment and The Tron. This project is funded by the Creative Scotland Open Fund.
