About the event
In these paintings Kirsty Lackie has been thinking about masks: the ones we wear in different situations, platforms, living spaces. The importance of masks in revealing truths. The freedom they can bring. The power of masks in the telling of a story. The mask she’s wearing - you’re reading - right now.
Kirsty Lackie (b.1989) was brought up in Edinburgh and then moved to Glasgow fourteen years ago. Studying Psychology (2011) at the University of Glasgow sparked her interest in the mechanics of a human mind, and since graduating in Communication Design from the Glasgow School of Art (2018) she’s been finding a mode of articulation and expression for these thoughts and observations. Since leaving art school Lackie has been developing her painting practice with her work being exhibited across the U.K. by All Mouth Gallery, Art On A Postcard and The Auction Collective, amongst others.
