Winks From The Uncertainty

Iñaki Susbielles works on small-mid scale oil paintings where authenticity, vulnerability and humor are explored through domestic situations. His imagery usually depicts everyday life moments as a subject matter.
Iñaki’s self-reflective practice is an attempt to capture the essence in those spare and often overlooked moments where stillness and uncertainty resonate allowing one to observe and create consciousness.

His paintings explore themes of solitude, happiness, communication, and what these concepts mean in the context of the contemporary world. He reflects on the fragility of life and challenges the disposability and pace of conteporary existence.

Using oil painting as a slow, deliberate process, he builds bridges with art history using lived experiences, memories, color, light and shapes to build his narratives. Some of the scenes seem staged and uncanny and are generated by hearing what painting urges

Iñaki Susbielles (b. 1988) is an Argentinian artist living and working in the UK since 2020. He holds a MA in Architecture and Urbanism from the Universidad de La Plata. Since 2023, Iñaki has been attending remotely to the MDA-art surgeries/crits, collaborative workspace for dialogue mentored by Diana Aisenberg.
He has also attended art courses led by artists such as Mariano Perarnau, Paola Vega and Nicolas Guardiola.
His work has been exhibited across Argentina, Spain and the UK.
