We All Move Forward is an on-going photographic archive of portraits of girls and women living in Scotland, which explores the theme of womanhood.
Societal expectations paint us with comparison in relation to the harmful pressure to conform to a certain standard in order to be liked or embraced by others. The acceptance of oneself should not be determined upon the approval of society’s ideals.
Through a series of portraits, this project aims to present each participant as they are.

Niamh McInally is a photographer based in Glasgow.
Community, friendship and youth are all prevalent themes in her photographic work.
In 2017, she was nominated by The UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards for Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year. Her work has been featured in British Journal of Photography’s Edition 365, Street Level Open, and Then There Was Us.
She graduated with a first-class BA Honours in Photography from City of Glasgow College in 2021 and currently works full-time as a freelance photographer.
